THE HEIDELBERG PROJECT, DETROIT, USA (- ongoing)

 

I am currently collaborating with The Heidelberg Project in Detroit, USA — an internationally recognised open-air art environment founded by Tyree Guyton. My contribution involves the creation of a series of 12–15 paintings responding to the transformed houses and community spaces within the site.

This body of work explores themes central to my wider practice: domestic space as manifesto, and the imprint of identity upon architecture. The paintings form part of a merchandise and print initiative supporting the project’s next phase of development, operating under a shared royalty model.

Founded in 1986 as a creative response to urban decay, The Heidelberg Project has become a cultural landmark and catalyst for regeneration in Detroit. My collaboration engages directly with its layered history of community resilience, transformation and lived experience.

Selected works from the series are intended for exhibition on site at a later date.
